  • First of all, wash the russet potatoes thoroughly with water before baking them in a toaster oven. 
  • Before placing the potatoes inside the toaster oven, preheat it at a temperature of  400º F. 
  • Take a small knife or fork, cut the potato on each side and place it inside the toaster oven
  • After the baked potatoes are ready, the toaster oven will notify you that your meal is cooked.
  • Allow the potatoes to cool down, and then season the baked potato with your favourite ingredients.

How to Bake Potatoes in a Convection Toaster Oven?

  • First, preheat the convention toast oven at 375º F, but you want the potatoes to be baked in an instant, then set the temperature at 400º F.
  • Then wash the potato by using a gentle scrub to prevent the breaking of potatoes’ skin. 
  • Pierce the potatoes in a cross-over shape because it prevents the bursting of the baked potato.
  • Next, take the pierced potatoes and rub them with vegetable oil to make the skin crispy properly.
  • Then take a foil sheet, place it on the rack of the toaster oven, and put the potatoes on the top.
  • Avoid wrapping the foil around the potatoes as it can result in boiling the potato rather than baking it.
  • Leave the potatoes inside the convection toaster oven for 55 to 60 minutes until these potatoes are tendered.
  • Before serving the potato, take a fork, pierce the potato at the crossover mark, and push both ends of the potatoes. 
  • Finally, the potatoes will be fluffy and a tasty meal that will leave your taste buds lavished.

  • 35-40 minutes for 3-4lb potatoes 
  • 45-50 minutes for 4-5 lb potatoes

Methods for Fluffing the Baked Potatoes

You can use two methods for fluffing the baked potatoes after taking them out of a toaster oven.

  • Zig-Zag Method

The zig-zag method the most commonly used for fluffing the potato before serving it. Take a small steak knife and cut a zig-zag pattern at the top of the potato. Once you have cut the zig-zag pattern across the potato, place the thumb at each end and start pressing at the centre. The baked potato will open up as a result, but you must be careful with the steam coming from it. At last, take a fork and fluff the baked potato after it has opened up and then finally season it.

  • Thwack Method

Another method you can use for fluffing the baked potato is the thwack method giving it more of a rustic look. First, hold the baked potatoes in your hand lengthwise and then thwack them on the cutting board or the counter. The baked potato will open up after you thwack it once or twice due to cracks.

To make the meal more delicious, season the baked potatoes with your favourite ingredients. Below are some ingredients that you can use to top the baked potatoes.

  • Veggie Pizza: Marinara Sauce, Mozzarella, Black Olives, Bell Peppers, Mushrooms
  • Buffalo Chickpea: Shredded Kale, Chickpeas, Celery, Buffalo Sauce, Crumbled Blue Cheese
  • Veggie Nachos: Shredded Cheese, Fresh Spinach, Peppers, Black Beans, Salsa, Avocado
  • Mediterranean: Hummus, Tomatoes, Parsley, Kalamata Olives, Feta, Lemon Wedges, Za’atar

Storing and Reheating

You can store the leftover baked potatoes for three to four days by placing them inside a refrigerator. However, before placing them inside the refrigerator, pack them inside a covered glass container. 

Reheating the Baked potatoes

First of all, preheat the toaster oven up to 375 F before reheating the leftover baked potatoes. Once the toaster oven is heated, you can put the baked potatoes on the rack. Close the door properly and cook the baked potatoes for 25 to 30 minutes.
