How to Clean Breville Toaster Oven?

The Breville Ovens are the best toaster ovens that allow you to toast, bake and broil without sacrificing the food’s taste. For instance, you can prepare delicious meals such as cookies, roast chicken, and much more. However, the Breville toaster oven requires proper care and maintenance, especially when you’re using it all the time.
Therefore you must always clean the toaster oven each time you cook something. Although cleaning the Breville Toaster oven seems like a difficult job, it really isn’t, and you can wash it by following basic instructions. You can clean the toaster oven by using a non-abrasive cleanser not to end up damaging it. Here are simple steps that will help you to clean the Breville oven toaster.

How to Clean Breville Toaster Oven?

Cleaning the Outer Body of Toaster Oven

Before cleaning the oven, you must turn off the toaster oven, and you can do this by pressing the Start/Cancel button on the control panel. You can tell that the oven is turned off when the backlight of the buttons are turned off. You must then remove the power cord of the toaster oven and allow the toaster oven to cool down before you disassemble it. Now you can start cleaning the oven by following the steps given below.

  • First of all, dip a soft sponge in a non-abrasive liquid cleanser or a mild spray solution. The spray prevents the build-up of stains on the oven toaster. Then take the sponge and use it to wipe the outer body of the toaster oven properly. However, keep in mind that you should never apply the cleanser directly to the surface of an oven.
  • Take a piece of cloth and apply the cleanser to it properly. Then wipe the LCD screen with the help of a damp cloth for removing the stains. Avoid cleaning it with a dry cloth as it can scratch the oven’s surface and isn’t too safe to use.
  • Once you have cleaned the outer body of the toaster oven, you can leave it to dry. Please make sure all of the surface toaster ovens are completely dry before turning it on.

Cleaning the Inside of the Toaster Oven

Cleaning the inside of the oven toaster is just as important as the outside. You can easily wash the inside of the oven toaster due to its non-sticky walls. Take a non-abrasive cleanser and dip a soft and smooth sponge or piece of cloth into it. Then thoroughly wipe the inside of the toaster oven to remove any splattering on the walls.

However, you must never apply the cleanser on the surfaces of the walls directly so that stains don’t build-up on the walls. Plus, you shouldn’t wash the heating elements with the cloth or sponge that has been soaked in a non-abrasive cleanser. Finally, leave the oven to dry and make sure it’s completely dry before turning it back on.

  • Cleaning the Quartz Heating Elements

Before you start cleaning the quartz heating elements, let the toaster oven cool. After the toaster oven has cooled, you can clean these elements using a damp cloth or sponge without soaking them into a cleanser or a cleaning spray. Finally, let these elements dry and only turn on the toaster oven once it’s completely dry.

Cleaning the Crumb Tray

Each time you use the toaster oven and take the crumb tray out, you must clean it after discarding the crumbs. Take a soft sponge and soak it into a non-abrasive cleanser and wipe the crumb tray thoroughly to clean it properly. However, keep in mind that never apply the cleanser directly to the crumb tray. After you’re done cleaning the crumb tray, let it dry before you use it again.

Moreover, to remove the grease from the crumb tray, soak it in warm soapy water. Then take a  plastic scouring pad or a sponge and clean the crumb tray. At last, rinse the crumb tray thoroughly and leave it to dry. After the crumb tray is dry, place it back inside the toaster oven before the power cord is plugged into the switch.

Cleaning the Accessories of Toaster Oven

The accessories of the toaster oven include a wire rack, grilling rack, baking pan, and a pizza pan. These items must be washed properly by soaking them into warm soapy water with a sponge or plastic scouring pad. However, you must never clean the metal parts of the accessories with a sponge or plastic scouring pad that’s soaked into a non-abrasive cleanser. After you have washed all of these items thoroughly,  leave them to dry.

Precautionary Measure

Never wash the toaster accessories such as wire rack, grilling rack, and other items in a dishwasher. It’s because when you wash these items in a dishwasher can reduce their life expectancy, and you will have to purchase them after some time.

Storage of Toaster Oven

  • Always make sure that you have turned off the toaster oven after you’re done preparing your meal. You can tell by looking at the backlight of the buttons on the control panel. If the buttons are not illuminated, then it means that the oven has been turned off.
  • Before cleaning the toaster oven, allow it to be cooled before you disassemble as it can result in an accident.
  • Always keep your accessories neat and clean, so these items can last for a long time and wash them after each use.
  • After you have washed all the accessories, you must always insert each component of the toaster oven in the right place. For example, you should place the grilling rack into the baking pan.
  • Moreover, always make sure that the door of the oven is closed correctly.
  • Place the toaster oven in an upright position and never put anything on the top of the toaster oven except for the optional Breville Bamboo Cutting Board and Serving Tray.
